This research was motivated by the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in accordance with government regulations so that its application requires several components, one of which is a learning approach. There were many different types of learning approaches, but researchers were particularly interested in problem-based learning, commonly known as PBL (Problem Based Learning). The objective of this research was to determine the implementation of a problem-based approach in PAI (Islam Education) learningat SMA N 1 Kutasari in the Purbalingga Regency.
The adoption of a problem-based method in PAI learning at SMA N 1 Kutasari, Purbalingga Regency described in this field research employed qualitative research. Observation, interviews, and documentation were used for data collecting, whereas data reduction, data presentation, and data verification were used for data analysis.
The findings revealed that the implementation of the problem-based approach used at SMA N 1 Kutasari in PAI learning went well, due to the collaboration between educators and students in learning, as well as the fact that using a problem-based approach in learning could really help students understand what they were learning. It was associated with everyday problems or in real life by educators, especially in PAI learning, where learning is both theory and practice.
Collaboration between educators and students in achieving the learning objectives to be achieved, as well as other factors, were supporting factors in the implementation of a problem-based approach in PAI learning at SMA N 1 Kutasari, Purabalingga Regency so that the implementation of a problem-based approach in learning can work properly.
