The aim of this study was to describe the mathematical connection ability of grade VIII students of MTs Tahfiz Al Quran Ar Raudlah Ajibarang viewed from gender. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling technique. In this study, 6 students were selected as a sample which consisted of 3 male students and 3 female students. Data collection techniques was carried out by using tests, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study showed that: (1) male students were able to link the concepts of plane figures and to associate the material of plane figures into everyday life; and (2) Female students were able to make connections among the concept of a plane figure, to associate concept of plane figures material with other materials, and to connect the material of plane figures material into everyday life.
