Abstract
The madrasah committee is a social institution that has a strategic role in
the implementation of education in order to improve the quality of education. At
this time the community needs more schools that have Islamic cultural character.
Meanwhile, Islamic culture can be formed with the contribution of all components
of the madrasa, namely family, school, and community.
This type of research is qualitative research. The thesis is prepared for the
purpose of completing the final assignment of students of the Master of Islamic
Studies Program, Faculty of Islamic Religion, Universitas Muhammadiyah
Purwokerto as part of the requirements for obtaining a Master of Education
degree. The subjects of this study are madrasah committees, principals, teachers
and students’ parents. Researchers takes data sources from madrasah documents
and Education journals on the internet. Data collection techniques are carried out
through interviews, observation and documentation. The instrument used is a list
of interviews. The validity of the research results is carried out by researchers
with the delivery of instructions as clear as possible, administering data, general
guidelines for interviews. The researcher as a human instrument carry out an
extension of data collection, cross-checking with the Triangulation Technique and
also through discussion.
The results of this study include: 1) The role of the madrasah committee as
an advisory agency has played a role in providing considerations for policies in
order to improve Islamic culture, among others by giving consideration in the
preparation of Document 1 Education Unit Level Curriculum especially in the
Local Content, Self-Development, and Extra-Curricular sections. 2) As a support
agency, the madrasa committee always provides support to the madrasa by
supporting various madrasa activities morally, such as support for the cultivation
of Islamic character and cultural values. 3) As the controlling agency, the
madrasa committee oversees the preparation of the Madrasah Revenue and
Expenditure Budget Plan, oversees the habituation of teachers and students and
oversees the use of madrasa funds. 4) As a mediator, the Madrasah committee
acts as a mediator between the government and schools and community members.
