Abstract

This study aims to determine the effects of emotional intelligence on mathematics
learning achievement in the fifthgrade of SD N 1 Kemutug Lor. This was quantitative
research of correlation test with two different variables. The population in this study
was 45 students who were taken using a saturated sampling technique. The
instrument of this study used a questionnaire, test scores, and documentation. The
product-moment technique and the reliability test with the Cronbach alpha technique
were employed to validate the data. The data analysis technique used a simple
linear regression. The results of the regression test showed a = 52.655 and b =
0.319. Then, the regression equation Y = 52.655 + 0.319X with a significance of
0.001<0.05 then the data were categorized as linear. The hypothesis test obtained
values of tcount = 4.749 and ttable = 2.016 (4.749>2.016) with a probability level
of 0.001<0.05 meant significant, then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted.
Based on the analysis data, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect
between emotional intelligence and the learningachievement of fifth-grade students
of SD N 1 Kemutug Lor.
