This study was aimed to discuss the value of character education in Madrasah Gemuruh Ombak Novel by Arini Hidajati. This study discusses the values of character education contained in Madrasah Gemuruh Ombak Novel by Arini Hidajati. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data was described in verbal data that reveals the values of character education in the novel. The content analysis was used as the research approach. The data was obtained from the text containing the value of character education in Madrasah Gemuruh Ombak Novel. From twenty-one theories enlisted in the character education, there is no character education that includes the spirit of nationalism, respect for achievement, tolerance, and democracy. The results showed that there were values of character education in Madrasah Gemuruh Ombak Novel by Arini Hidajati as follows: Religious values were shown by practicing Muslim prayer, prayer, reciting the Holy Quran, and paying zakat. The value of being honest was shown in the actions of honesty. The values of responsibility were shown as responsibility to his sibling, responsibility as a child, and responsibility as a parent. Discipline value was shown by obeying rules. The value of hard work was shown by earning a living. The creative value was shown by making crafts. The value of being independent was shown by going to school alone doing assignments independently. Curiosity values were shown by trying to sew and setting the fire in a petromax lamp. The value of the national spirit by fighting for the sake of the country. The value of communicating or making friends is in the form of communicating with people. The value of social care includes helping others and helping relatives. The value of caring for the environment includes keeping the environment and preventing floods. Peace-loving value includes avoiding conflict. The value of reading by sparing time to read. The value of respect was shown in respecting the parents. The value of gratitude by being grateful. From these results, it can be concluded that the characters in Madrasah Gemuruh Ombak novel by Arini Hidajati have good characters as they apply the several of existing character values.
