The purpose of this study is to describe the quality of the items of Mid Semester Assessment of Bahasa Indonesia subject for the Eighth Graders of SMP Negeri 1 Bobotsari Purbalingga Regency in the 2020/2021 Academic Year. This is a quantitative descriptive study. Because SMP Negeri 1 Bobotsari has never examined items for validity, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminatory power, or distracter efficacy, the study was conducted. Question sheets, answer keys, and students' answer sheets are among the data sources. The information comes from the Mid-Semester Assessment and students. The data collection technique used is the documentation method. The questions were analyzed based on validity, reliability, discriminatory power, level of difficulty, and effectiveness of distracters. The data was analyzed using the Anates Version 4 program and manual calculations with the help of the Microsoft Excel application. The results of this study indicate that; (1) Based on the quality of the items in terms of the level of difficulty, there are 5 items at or 12.5% which are included in the difficult group, 32 items or 80% included in the medium group, and 3 items or 7.5% included in the category easy. (2) In terms of discriminating power, there are 4 items or 10% in discriminating power, 15 items or 37.5% in sufficient discriminating power, 18 items or 45% in good discriminating power, 2 items or 5% in excellent discriminatory power, and 1 item or 2.5% in poor discriminatory power. (3) Based on the effectiveness of the distracters, there are 27 items or 67.5% belonging to good items, and 13 items or 32.5% in poor distracter effectiveness. (4) Based on the validity, 33 questions (82.5%) are valid, whereas 7 things (17.5%) are invalid. (5) In terms of reliability, It has a 0.75 reliability level and is already quite reliable (reliable). It can be determined that there are 17 quality questions (42.5%), 16 items of lesser quality (40%), and 7 items (17.5%) that are not qualified.
