Abstract
Wood is a natural resource that has very good potential in various fields.
The high demand for wood as a precursor leads to reduced supply. One of the
attempts to overcome it is to make laminated wood. The purpose of this research is
to find out the results of the tests and a flexural strength comparison of the waste
wood laminated beam with whole wood beam. The method that used in this research
is to find moisture content and strong flexural strength. Moisture content tested
from 3 wood samples size 50 x 50 x 50 mm, with initial wood weight variables and
after drying wood weight. Strong whole wooden lens and laminate are tested from
each of the three samples 50 x 50 x 710 mm dimensions. The test results obtained a
moisture content are 12,987%, 11,688%, and 12,82% with an average of 12,499%.
Results of whole wood flexural setrength test is 605.88 kg/cm2, 572.22 kg/cm2 and
639.54 kg/cm2, with an average of 605.88 kg/cm2. For laminated beam, the values
obtained are 504.9 kg/cm2, 538.56 kg/cm2 and 437.58 kg/cm2 with an average of
493.68 kg/cm2. In conclusion, the average of the flexural strength for laban whole
wood beam is 605.88 kg/cm2 and for laban wood laminated beam is 493.68 kg/cm2.
