Abstract

Diseases involving inflammatory processes in the body are quite high. Diseases related to inflammation such as diabetes mellitus, asthma, dermatitis, ARI, pneumonia, joint disease, tumors or cancer, and hepatitis. Inflammation occurs due to infection from microbes, injury / trauma, irritation, exposure to foreign particles and pollutants. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to have a compound that has anti-inflammatory activity. Antiinflammation is a drug that has the ability to suppress the signs and symptoms of inflammation, which works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase so that the formation of arachidonic acid into PGE is disrupted. This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of cream preparations from THC. Cream was chosen because it has the property of easily spread evenly, practically, easily washed, and not sticky and lighter than ointment. The method used in this research is experimental analysis using D-Optimal Design. The results obtained are that THC is able to reduce the inflammatory response in male wistar rats, seen from the AUC value and anti-inflammatory power. The AUC yield at THC was 43.63 and the anti-inflammatory power percentage was 39.61%.
