Abstract
The activities of the Teacher Working Group (KKG) are expected to be
able to overcome the learning problems faced by teachers in the classroom so that
the learning process is more effective, quality, and can improve the quality of
national education. The government sets the minimum competency standard
(SKM) for UKG in 2017 to be 70.0. Kemdikbud data shows that the average
national UKG result is 53.02. This average shows that the competence of teachers
is still below the minimum competency standard (SKM) targeted by the
government. The activities of the Teacher Working Group and the 2017 UKG
results illustrate the performance of teachers in the field. This study aims to
identify: 1) the effect of teacher working group (KKG) activities on teacher
performance, 2) the effect of competency tests on teacher performance and 3) the
effect of teacher working group (KKG) activities and competency tests on the
performance of class VI elementary school teachers in Gumelar District. This
study is an ex-post facto which seeks a causal relationship, to reveal facts based
on the measurement of the symptoms that have occurred in each respondent. The
determination of the sample in this study was purposive sampling, in which the
determination of the sample was carried out through certain considerations,
namely that only grade VI teachers. The number of samples is 34 people. The
analysis conducted was correlation analysis and regression analysis, both simple
and multiple. Respondents in this study had the lowest KKG activity score of 77
and the highest was 132 of the 28 statements in the instrument that were declared
valid. The highest competency test score was 89 and the lowest was 45 based on
the Competency Test data in 2015. The highest teacher performance score was 89
and the lowest was 85 from the Gumelar sub-district teacher performance
assessment data in 2018. The results of this study are (1) there is a negative
influence The teacher working group (KKG) activity variable on teacher
performance is indicated by the correlation coefficient -0.055 and the regression
coefficient -0.005. (2) there is a negative effect of the competency test variable on
teacher performance as indicated by the correlation coefficient value -0.179 and
the regression coefficient value -0.018. (3) There is a negative effect of the
Teacher Working Group Activity (KKG) variable and the competency test on
teacher performance as indicated by the value of the determination coefficient of
0.036 and the F value of 0.575.
