Abstract

This research is aimed at improving tolerance and learning achievement of grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Lumbir in learning Theme 8;Lingkungan Sahabat Kita' using Continuous Signs VCT. This classroom action research consisted of 2 cycles with 2 meetings in each. The subject of the research was 25 grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Lumbir - 17 female students and 8 male students. The data were collected through the test and non-test instruments. The data were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of the research, students' tolerance in cycle I shows a value of 61.4%, which is categorized as a good criterion and in cycle II it shows a value of 81.4%, which is categorized as a very good criterion. Meanwhile, students' learning achievement shows classical completeness in cycle I as follow: 20% in meeting I and 80% in meeting II. In cycle II, it shows 84% in meeting I and 92% in meeting II. Regarding the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an improvement on tolerance and learning achievement performed by grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Lumbir after being taught using Continuous Signs VCT.
