Abstract
This research aimed to figure out the comparison on students’ critical
thinking abilities between students who joined probing prompting learning and
students who joined TTW learning. The research design used was two group
posttest only design. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII
in State Junior High School 2 Banyumas. The technique of collecting sample used
was cluster random sampling which VIII A class as experimental class 1 and VIII
B class as experimental class 2. The results of the post-test on critical thinking
ability in experimental class 1 is obtained 71,79 of median and experimental class
2 as much as 64,65. After hypotheses test was done using independent sample ttest
with 95% level of confidence showed that students’ abilites on critical
thinking who join probing prompting learning were better than the critical
thinking abilities of students who joined TTW learning.
