This research aimed to describe (1) types, forms, and purposes of the implicatures with character in Semarangan corner discourse of Suara Merdeka newspaper December 2018 edition, and (2) the implications in Semarangan corner discourse of Suara Merdeka December 2018 edition in learning exposition text on the tenth grade of Senior High School. This was a descriptive qualitative research with the data of the speech in Semarangan corner discourse. The data source was Suara Merdeka newspaper. The data were collected using Observation Non-participatory technique with reading as the basic technique and continued with noting technique, then the data were analyzed using pragmatic identity method with dividing-key factors technique as the basic technique and continued with equalizing technique. The results showed there were implicature with religious, honest, tolerant, discipline, hardworking, democratic, loving peace, environmental care, social care, and responsible characters. Those implicatures included conventional and conversational characters, speech like news sentences, imperative, and interrogative sentences. Meanwhile, the purposes of the speech were to support, expect, suggest, quip, inform, warn, and ask. Besides, Semarangan corner discourse could also be implicated in learning exposition text on the tenth grade of Senior High School.
