The research entitled “Bahan Ajar Menulis Fiksi Berbasis Cerita Rakyat“. The
purposes of this research were to (1) Find out the need of teaching material to write
fiction stories used in learning activity.(2) Knowing the illustration of teaching
materials prototype based on folktale (3) Obtaining the illustrations of teaching
materials validation to develop it. The method of this researcher is Research and
Development (R & D), using steps: (1) Potential and Problems, (2) Literature Study,
(3) Collecting Information, (4) Product Design, (5) Design Validation, and (6) Design
Tested. The data in this study were obtained from questionnaires for the needs of
teaching materials and expert lecturer validation tests. The data in this study were

validation tests. Then the questionnaires fill by five teachers from school that has
implemented curriculum 2013. The results of expert validation are 1) aspect of
material presentation, average score of 50 is categorized as sufficient, 2) aspects of
content / material average score of 70.83 including good category, 3) aspects of
language and readability of average values of 65 including sufficient, and 4) the
aspect of graphics which consists of 9 indicators gets 63.88 scores including enough
categories. Prototype of instructional material was revised, teacher validation results
are 1) aspects of material presentation, obtaining an average score of 100 very good
categories, 2) aspects of content / material average score of 87.5 good categories, 3)
aspects of language and readability of average grades average 90 is very good, and 4)
aspect of graphics, the average value of 100 categories is very good. Teaching
materials were experimented with grade IV students, the result was 1) the average
pretest score was 27.5, 2) the posttest score was 68.21. Conclusions of the study, O2
was greater than O1 (O2 ˃ O1). Then teaching materials for writing folk-based fiction
can be used.
