Abstract
The purpose of this research was aimed at finding out what the competencies and
class activities in Curriculum 2013 that are covered 4Cs occur in EFL class. The
research was conducted from 23rd of July up to 30th July 2019. The respondents of
this research were five English teachers of Senior High Schools in Purwokerto.
This research used descriptive-qualitative research. The instruments to collect the
data were observation and interview. This research conducted in 2 different
grades, grade 10 and grade 11. This study found that about 67% the competencies
of 4Cs applied in grade 10 and 89% applied in grade 11. Then, the learning model
and learning method mostly used are project-based learning and Think-Pair-Share.
It is supported by the learning activity done in the class. In addition, the teachers
were interviewed to get the information deeply about the competencies and
learning activity. Most of the teachers said that they did not want to take all the
competencies of 4Cs in the beginning grade, that is grade 10 and they are not too
pegged to the theory of learning method in their learning activities.
