Abstract

Mathematics is still difficult to understand for some students and considers mathematics to be a difficult subject. Such negative perceptions must be overcome by making mathematics a lesson that is not difficult and enjoyable for students. A common problem faced is that students have not been able to understand the concept of solving multiplication. However, in learning students are required to be able to complete multiplication so students can continue the material on further learning. The teacher tries to overcome it by applying flash card media. This study aims to know the effectiveness of flashcard media on mathematics learning achievement in multiplication material of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. This study is a quantitative study using a correlation approach. The population was 20 students of the fifth grade of SD Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. Sample which was used in this study is saturated sample because the number of students is limited or all members were become the population. Data collection techniques which was used are test of mathematics learning achievement and students’ score through flashcard media. Data analysis techniques which was used is simple linear regression data analysis. Data was processed by using SPSS program. The results of this study indicate that flashcard media was effective on mathematics learning achievement in multiplication material, with significant results smaller than 0.05, which was 0.020, it is means that flashcard media have an effect on the mathematics learning achievement in multiplication material. The acquisition of the Fcalculate is 6.468 and Ftable is 4.414. The results of data analysis indicate that there is a significant influence between the two variables, because Fcalculate>Ftable. It can be concluded that there is a positive influence where the multiplication learning habits through flash card media, student learning achievement on multiplication material will increase, so that the flash card media is effective on mathematics learning achievement of multiplication material.
