Abstract

The background of this research is the low critical thinking skills of students in doing questions that are analytical and discuss solving a problem in grade V SD Negeri Tambaksari. This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills using VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) learning models assisted by audio-visual media on theme 8, namely Our Friend's Environment. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles, the implementation of PTK has four stages which are carried out, namely planning, action, observe, and reflect. CAR research was carried out in the second semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The subjects of this study were all students of grade V, amounting to 23 students consisting of 13 male students and 10 female students. Data collection techniques using test techniques to measure critical thinking skills. The findings in this study were an increase in students' critical thinking skills which can be seen in each cycle. In the first cycle shows the average answer to the evaluation questions of students' critical thinking skills shows the number 69.21% which is classified as good criteria. Which was then continued to cycle II with increasing results, showing the number 80.26% with good criteria and passing the success indicator number.
