Abstract
The government made a new policy in 2018, namely the student admission
system based on zonation. This zonation system is expected to improve the quality of
education in Indonesia. However, in fact, there are many obstacles and problems
faced by teachers, especially in the academic field. This study aimed to find out the
effect of the zonation system on the students Bahasa learning outcome at the seventh
grade of SMP Negeri 1 Purwokerto and to find out the effect of distance,
achievement, and economics on the students Bahasa learning outcome at the seventh
grade of SMP Negeri 1 Purwokerto. The study was conducted by a quantitative
approach and through survey methods. Data analysis was performed in the form of
quantitative descriptive. The research data that had been obtained were described
and then processed with the correlation and regression formula to find out the effect
of the zonation system on the students Bahasa learning outcome. It was found that
there is a correlation between the zonation system and on the students Bahasa
learning outcome at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Purwokerto. The calculation
results show that the correlation value is 0.003. This value can be interpreted that
the correlation between the two variables is weak. It shows simultaneously that there
is a positive effect between the zonation system and Bahasa learning outcome of
16.7% and the remaining 83.3% was affected by other factors that were not
examined in this study. There is also an effect on a short distance, high achievement
background, low achievement background, and high economic background on
Bahasa learning outcome.
