The study aimed to determide the form, function, and meaning of the repetition figure
of speech in the lyrics of Iwan Fals song in the Manusia Setengah Dewa album. The
research type was descriptive qualitative. Here, there existing data were analyzed as
the real condition and described in accordance with the research objectives. It
implemented a statistical approach. The object of the study was the style of repetition
in the lyrics of Iwan Fals song in the Manusia Setengah Dewa album. The data were
twenty-two lyrics which contained repetition figure of speech on Iwan Fals’ Manusia
Setengah Dewa album. The data source was the album Manusia Setengah Dewa. To
collect the data, reading and nothing techniques were applied. The validity of the data
was obtained from theory triangulation technique. The data analysis techniques
implemented three stages, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The
findings covered epizeuksis figure of speech and found seven data, there were six dara
of anaphora, there were six data of epistrofa, there were two data of simploke, and
there was a single datum of mesodiplosis. The figure of speech discovered was an
emphasizing function. The meaning of figure of speech was extension and nonreferential
meaning. It is expected that figure of speech, function and meaning can
provide and ilustration to the reader so that it is easier for them to understand or guess
what is meant by the author.
