The Covid-19 pandemic period experienced by the State of Indonesia
affected the disciplinary character of students. It is very important to instill the
disciplined character of students in schools. Therefore, teachers as role models for
students must be able to improve their work ethic. As long as the predicate of the
teacher is still attached, the teacher must act as a good teacher and have a good
work ethic. This study aims to describe a critical analysis of the work ethic of
teachers in improving the disciplined character of elementary school students in
the Wahidin Sudirohusodo Gugus, Banjarmangu District, which focuses on 4
(four) things, namely: (1) teacher work ethic (2) student discipline (3) the
teacher's efforts to improve the disciplined character of students; (4) Analysis of
the teacher's work ethic in improving the disciplined character of students. This
study uses a qualitative approach, the type of phenomenological research with
descriptive analysis. This research was conducted in the Wahidin Sudirohusodo
Cluster, Banjarmangu District. Data collection techniques were carried out by
interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses Miles and
Huberman's interactive data analysis technique which includes data collection,
data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. After that, the validity of the
data was tested by testing the credibility with triangulation. Based on the results of
research in the field, it can be seen that the work ethic of elementary school
teachers and the disciplined character of elementary school students in the
Wahidin Sudirohusodo Gugus, Bajarmangu District is quite good, but still needs
improvement. The teacher's work ethic affects the character of the students'
discipline. Good work skills and high thinking maturity of teachers, become
models and role models for students. Teacher discipline will be followed/imitated
by students. Teachers who have a high work ethic will be respected and liked by
students. Teachers' efforts in improving student discipline need support from
family, friends, and the surrounding environment.
