The purpose of this study was to describe the form and elements of Baduy culture
in the Baduy novel: Sometimes Love Runs Surprisingly by Rani Ramdayani. This
research is a type of qualitative research. The object of this research is the form
and element of Baduy culture in the Baduy novel: Sometimes Love Runs
Surprisingly by Rani Ramdayani. The data in this study is the text in the form of
words and sentences that contain the form and elements of Baduy culture in the
Baduy novel: Sometimes Love Runs Surprisingly by Rani Ramdayani. Data
sources are in the form of Baduy novels: Sometimes Love Runs Surprisingly by
Rani Ramdayani. The approach used in this study is the literary anthropology
approach. Data collection techniques used are reading techniques and notetaking
techniques. Data analysis techniques used are through three data analysis
processes, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification and
conclusions. The results of this study are the forms and elements of culture that
exist in the Baduy community. There are three forms of culture, the first is culture
in the form of ideas, ideas and rules including: (1) rules regarding customary
violations, (2) rules on matchmaking, (3) rules for prohibition on vehicles, (4)
prohibition on schooling, and (5) rules prohibition on using electronic and
modern equipment. Second, culture in human activities, including: (1) Baduy
community activities in the Seren Taun ceremony, (2) activities of Baduy women
in weaving. Third, culture in the form of objects of human work, including: (1)
woven fabrics, and (2) koja bags. There are also seven elements of culture. First,
language, including: (1) ambu words, (2) puun words, (3) jaro words, and (4)
paraji words. Second, the knowledge system is knowledge of the natural flora.
Third, the social organization namely the Baduy youth association in the post.
Fourth, living equipment and technology systems, including: (1) clothing, (2) food
and drinks, and (3) barns. Fifth, livelihood systems, including: (1) weaving, and
(2) farming. Sixth, the religious system is Sunda Wiwitan, the seventh is the art of
angklung.
