Abstract

This research aims to test and analyze the independent variables of compensation and motivation on the dependent variable of employee performance through the mediating variable of work spirit at Duta Mode Purwokerto. The population in this research were employees of Duta Mode Purwokerto. The sample used in this research were 120 respondents that determined by census technique. Data collection using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis, T test, F test and sobel test. The results of the t test, it shows: a) Compensation has a significant effect toward work spirit; b) Motivation has a significant effect toward work spirit; c) Compensation has a significant effect toward employee performance; d) Motivation has a significant effect toward employee performance; d) Work spirit has a significant effect toward employee performance. The sobel test results show: a) Compensation has a significant effect toward employee performance through work spirit; b) Motivation has a significant effect toward Employee Performance through work spirit.
Based on the test results of the adjusted R2 coefficient of determination model 1 shows the influence of compensation and motivation on work spirit is 56.9% and the remaining 43.1% is explained by other variables not included in model 1. The results of the adjusted R2 coefficient of determination test results 2 shows the influence of compensation, motivation, and work spirit on employee performance is 74.9% and the remaining 25.1% is explained by other variables not included in model 2.
