Abstract
This study aimed to describe the difficulties of fifth-grade students in writing paragraphs at SD N 2 Dukuhwaluh. This research is descriptive qualitative using a case study. The subjects of this research consisted of the fifth-grade students, fifth-grade teachers, and student's parents. Interviews, observation, and documentation were used in data collection. Data triangulation was used in the validity test. The Miles Huberman model which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions was used in the data analysis. The results showed that: (1) the fifth-grade students experienced difficulties in writing paragraphs on the subject of Bahasa Indonesia. Students experienced difficulties in finding information contained in a paragraph, difficulties in determining the main idea, and difficulties in writing good and correct paragraphs (2) there were internal and external factors that created students' difficulties. Internal causes included students' lack of interest in the Bahasa Indonesia subject, a lack of motivation to learn, and improper teaching methods. Unsupported situations throughout the learning process are examples of external factors. (3) providing more effective learning time and learning assistance are considered as the solution to the learning difficulties.
