Fast Disintegrating Tablet (FDT) is solid dosage forms that disintegrate
very quickly when in contact with saliva. FDT aloe vera is the development of
herbal pharmaceutical products that have effect gastic ulcer therapy. The content
of flavonoids on aloe vera has pharmacological activity as a gastric protection
agent. This study aims to determine the effect of aloe vera extract on the physical
properties of FDT tablets and gastric acid neutralization capacity. Tablets were
prepared using wet granulation method with the concentration of aloe vera extract
100 mg/tablet, 125 mg/tablet and 150 mg/tablet. Tablet evaluation tests include
weight uniformity, hardness, friability, disintegration time and gastric acid
neutralization test. The data obtained were analyzed using the one-way ANOVA
test with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed that the greater the
concentration of aloe vera extract used, can increased the neutralization value of
gastric acid in the FDT tablet of Aloe vera.
