Learning motivation is a powerful stimulus in the students that triggers the desire to study, guarantees the succesfull learning process, and gives right direction of the learning in order to achieve certain objectives. Learning motivation is necessary for the students during the covid-19 pandemic. This research aims to know the learning motivation of the students during the covid-19 pandemic. This is a qualitative research with the method of case study which collects the data in a form of words of picture, not the numbers. The subjects of this research were students of grade IV and V at SD Negeri 2 Kediri which implements online learning process during the covid-19 pandemic. The students performed as the primary informant, and the teachers as the secondary one. The data were collected through interview, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman’s consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The technique of triangulation was done to test the data validity. The results of the research shows that the online learning process affects the learning motivation of the students. One of the difficulties experienced by the students was the availability of the infrastructure or equipments needed for the online learning process. Therefore, the teachers carried out efforts in order to maintain the learning motivation of the students by doing offline learning process once in a while and using various learning media so that the students kept being attentive to the learning process during the covid-19 pandemic.
