The progress of the times requires education providers to further improve
the quality of their education. This relates to the quality management of Islamic
Religious Education learning in schools which is one part of efforts to improve
the quality of education. Therefore, an important element is needed in educational
institutions, namely the principal in his role in the management of the quality of
Islamic education learning. The purpose of this study was to describe the role of
the principal in the quality management of Islamic Religious Education learning
in the UMP Elementary School.
This study uses a qualitative approach, while the type of research used is
descriptive qualitative research, namely research procedures that describe the state
of the object under study as it is in accordance with the situation and conditions
that occurred when the research was conducted. The data collection of this
research used the method of observation, interviews and documentation, while the
data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.
The results showed that the principal has several important roles in the
quality management of Islamic Religious Education learning. The principal's role
in quality management of Islamic Religious Education learning in UMP
Elementary School includes roles as educators, managers, administrators,
supervisors, innovators, motivators, leaders, creators of the work climate, and as
entrepreneurs.
