Abstract

This research was conducted to describe students' creative thinking ability in solving open-ended mathematic quetions reviewed from learning achievement. The research is qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects of this study are grade VII F students of SMP Negeri 5 Purwokerto. Data were obtained from the students' even mid-semester test scores, written tests, and interviews. The students were grouped based on their learning achievement, the mid-term scores, into three categories of high learning achievement category, the medium learning achievement category, and the low learning achievement category. Three subjects were chosen from each group through purposive sampling technique. After being given the test, students who were selected as subjects were then interviewed. The research indicates that students with high learning achievement categories were able to meet the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Students with medium learning achievement categories are able to complete the indicators of fluency, originality, and elaboration. Meanwhile, students with low learning achievement category have not been able to complete all indicators of creative thinking abilities.
