This study entitled types of the correlation between family environment and parenting with the learning outcome of Indonesian language subject of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto in the academic year of 2018-2019. This is a quantitative descriptive research with correlational method. The results of this research indicates that the family environment of the students was in the good category with the percentage of 57%; parenting applied by students’ parents tend to be permissive with a percentage gain of 47% and democratic with a percentage gain of 48%; Indonesian language learning outcomes were in the high category with a percentage gain of 54%. Furthermore, a significance level of 0,293 > 0,05 was obtained therefore there was no significant correlation between the family environment and the Indonesian language learning outcomes, which meant that Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected with a correlation coefficient of 0.101 which was positive and had a very low correlation level; there was a positive and a significant correlation between parenting and Indonesian learning outcomes as a significance level of 0,048 < 0,05 was obtained which meant tha Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted with a correlation coefficient of 0,189 which was positive and had a very low correlation; and there was no correlation between the family environment and parenting together with the results of learning Indonesian because it obtained a significance level of 0.1377gt; 0.05 which meant that Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected with a correlation coefficient of 0.191 which was postive and had a very low correlation.
