This research was aimed at revealing the students’ perception of using E-learning in
EFL Class at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The researcher used survey type
research methods. This research was conducted in March until April by taking research
subjects from students of English language education of 2016 and 2017. Of the two
classes, a population of 171 students was obtained. The researcher conducted a random
sampling technique to take 25% of the population to get a sample of 44 students, and there were only five students as the interviewee. The researcher used instruments from
a closed-questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The researcher analysed the data
from the questionnaire using a quantitative research formula. The result showed that
most of the students (74.63%) agreed that E-learning helps them in the learning process
as a complement media. The questionnaire result supported by the interview result,
which showed that the majority of students like using E-learning but they also still
preferred old-style learning or commonly referred to as a face-to-face class.
