The study, entitled The Formation of Slang Forms in Twitter Social Media
in February 2019, aims to describe the process of forming slang words found in
uploaded posts on the Twitter social media account @ikramarki. This type of
research used in this study is to use a qualitative descriptive approach. The research
data is in the form of slang words on the social media Twitter account @ikramarki.
The data source of this research is one of the social media namely Twitter in the
@ikramarki account including the upload of February 2019 writings. The data in this
study uses the method of referring to the Tapping-Free Interference (SBLC)
technique, documentation technique, and note taking technique. In the data analysis
stage, the method used is the method of sharing with Direct Basis (BUL) as a basic
techniques. next, and advanced technique is used, namely the technique of fade and
replace. Based on the results of research data analysis, the following results are
obtained: the process of forming slang words is classified as a morphological process
including prefixes of 3 data. Then for the process of forming slang outside the
morphological process includes abbreviations for changes in vowel sounds with 32
data, aphrodisiac (apresis) 14 data, a combination of capital letters 13 data, fragments
of 10 data, changes in the spelling of foreign languages imitating Indonesian 9 data,
abbreviations 8 data, contraction of 8 data, sound removal (syncope) 8 data, addition
of sound (epensis) ) 6 data, addition of sound (paragog) 6 data, addition of consonant
sound 4 data, omission (apokop) 2 data, changes in Indonesian spelling mimic foreign
language 2 data, symbol letters 1 data, combination of letters and numbers 1 data,
sound reversal 1 data, and 1 data loop.
