Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical connection skills of students viewed by Self Regulated Learning in the material triangles and squares. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were students of class VII B SMP Negeri 1 Kembaran. Sampling using purposive sampling technique consisting of 3 students for each category, namely 3 students with high Self Regulated Learning category, 3 students with moderate Self Regulated Learning category, 3 students with low Self Regulated Learning category. The instrument used was a Self Regulated Learning questionnaire, a mathematical connection ability test and an interview guide. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validation test uses technical triangulation. The results showed: The high category can understand and connect between sub-material in the subject matter of mathematics, between concepts in mathematics and outside mathematics and daily life; The moderate category is sufficient to understand and connect the sub-material in the subject matter of mathematics and connect between concepts in mathematics and outside mathematics and everyday life; The lower category does not understand and connect between sub-material in the subject matter of mathematics and daily life and sufficiently understand and connect between concepts in mathematics and outside mathematics.
