The Covid-19 pandemic caused various problems, one of them is in the
banking sector. That problems include the payment of installments for the
custemers who affected by the pandemic. The purpose of this study is to determine
the postponement of installment payments of customers affected by the pandemic
at Bank Muamalat Purwokerto.
This research is a descriptive qualitative research type with data
collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. Data
analysis using primary data from the results of interviews Purwokerto Muamalat
Bank using the Sharia Principles theory. Data analysis was carried out through
synchronization between the research data and the theory that would support the
conclusions of this study.
This study shows that the Muamalat Purwokerto bank provides relaxation
or suspension of installment payments for customers affected by the Covid-19
pandemic. The relaxation or delay includes working capital, investment and
mortgages. The provision of relaxation is exempted for private workers whose
salaries are not deducted by companies and civil servants (PNS). Before the
covid-19 pandemic, Muamalat Purwokero bank had provided relief to creditors
whose businesses experienced problems due to disasters or decreased business
income. The evaluation carried out by the Muamalat Purwokerto bank is to
screen customers who really need this relaxation.
