The study aimed to describe suspense, foreshadowing, and surprise in the Cantik Itu Luka novel by Eka Kurniawan. The data in this study were text in the form of words, sentences or phrases which contained elements of suspense, foreshadowing, and surprise. The data source in the study was Cantik Itu Luka novel by Eka Kurniawan. The approach conducted was structuralism. Data collection techniques implemented were reading techniques and note taking techniques. Data collection techniques in this study were (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) verification. The results of the research obtained was something related to suspense,foreshadowing, and surprise. It revealed that Cantik Itu Luka obtained three strong plots, namely suspense, foreshadowing, and surprise. Suspense, foreshadowing, and surprise were maintained from the beginning to the end of the story because they were always available in every part of the novel. It was a combination of stories because each conflict presented was interrelated. Linkages were evidenced by the appearance of every element in every part of the novel.
