Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe the talk conducted by teacher and students in the classroom interaction and to find out which is the more dominant talk between teacher talk and students talk during the classroom interaction by using Flanders Interaction Analysis Category (FIAC) model. The method of this research was used case study. The participants of this research were VIIIB class of the eighth grade students and an English teacher of MTs Al Mujahadah. The research collecting data using recording and observation. The result of the talk were the teacher spoke a lot than the students because the percentages of teacher talks were 64% in first meeting, 60.22% in second meeting and 58.9% at the third meeting, but the percentages of students‟ talk at the first meeting was 34.67%, at the second meeting was 37.5% then in the third meeting it was improved become 39.3%. It can be concluded that the teacher talk was more dominant than students talk.
