Aloe vera gel was use binders. The aim of this research was to know the
influence of gel lidah buaya on physical characteristic of mefenamic acid tablets.
Three formulas of mefenamic acid tablet were made by binder different. Formula
I (Aloe vera gel: 3%), Formula II (Aloe vera gel: 4%), and Formula III (Aloe vera
gel: 5%). The tablets produced were tested physical characteristic (fluidity of
granule, uniformity of weight, tablet hardness, friability, disintegration time). The
result of research was analyzed by one way analysis of varian (ANOVA) and last
significant difference significancy. The result of research showed that Aloe vera
gel as binder influence on physical characteristic of mefenamic acid tablets. The
formulas I, II, and III were qualified of fluidity of granule, uniformity of weight,
tablet hardness, and friability. Disintegration time of all formulas were unqualified
by requiment of Indonesian Pharmacopodia III. The bigger additional
concentration of Aloe vera, the higher hardness, the smaller friabilities and the
longer the time to disintegration tablet.
