Abstract

This research explores the development of the management of the Great Mosque of Darussalam Purbalingga, focusing on two main objectives: (1) to uncover the historical background of the mosque and (2) to analyze the evolution of its management from 2010 to 2024. The study employed historical methods involving four key steps: Heuristic: Gathering data through interviews, observations, and documentation; criticism: Assessing the sources through external criticism (authenticity of sources) and internal criticism (credibility of content); Interpretation: Analyzing the data to understand its significance, and Historiography: Writing and presenting the historical results.
The results indicated that (1) the Great Mosque of Darussalam Purbalingga was established in 1853 AD (1269 AH), predating Indonesias independence. It was founded by KH. Abdullah Ibrahim Nawawi, a merchant and missionary who resided in the Kauman complex of Purbalingga. He was the son of a Demang (local chief). The takmir (management) was led by Drs. HM. Noer Issja. (2) Takmir The Great Mosque of Darussalam Purbalingga for the period of 2010-2015 was led by Drs. HM. Noer Issja. In the 2015-2020 period, the takmir of the Great Mosque of Darussalam Purbalingga led by Drs. HM. Noer Issja returned in the previous period as well once held. In the previous period, the takmir management of the Great Mosque Darussalam was led by Drs. HM. Noer Issja. However, in the period of 2020-2025 The takmir management of the Great Mosque of Darussalam is led by Hanif Ahmas.
