This study aims to find out what assessment methods used by the English
Teachers' in assessing speaking in online classes. This study was conducted using
observation and interview. The subjects of this study were four teachers from
.English Enrichment Program by Language Development Center in Universitas
Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Qualitative method was used to analyze the data
revealed from the field. The qualitative data are presented in the form of table of
observation sheet and interview sheet of teachers' classroom in online learning.
Based on the data result, it shows that the teachers use performance assessment as
their speaking assessment method in the form of: classroom presentation,
video/audio taping, short plays I drama and open ended question.
