Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of nitrogen fertilizer and gibberellin (GA3), a plant growth hormone, on the growth and yield of cucumber (C. sativus L.). The study was conducted in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto in Karangsari Village from March to May 2019. The experimental design used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD). The first factor is the dose of urea (N) fertilizer with 3 levels, namely N0 (control), N1 (300 kg/ha), and N2 (600 kg/ha). The second factor is the concentration of gibberellin (G) with 4 levels, namely G0 (control), G1 (100 ppm), G2 (200 ppm), and G3 (300 ppm). The results show that the treatment of nitrogen fertilizer had no significant effect on the growth and yield of cucumber plants. The treatment of gibberellin (GA3) has no significant effect on the growth and yield of the plants. There was no interaction between the administration of nitrogen fertilizer and the concentration of gibberellin (GA3) on the growth and yield of cucumber plants.
