Abstract

This study aims to examine bank operational activities and their implications for
profitability with non-performing financing factors as mediation. The object of
this study uses Islamic public banking registered at Bank Indonesia during the
period 2012-2017. The data used are secondary data in the form of annual
financial statements for the period 2012-2017. The sampling technique used in
this study was purposive sampling data analysis used in this study namely
multiple regression analysis and sobel test. The analysis shows that third party
funds have no effect and are not significant on non-performing financing, loan to
deposit ratio has a significant effect on non-performing financing, third party
funds have a negative and insignificant effect on return on assets, loan to deposit
ratio has no significant effect on return on assets, Non-performing financing has a
significant effect on return on assets. The mediation test results of non-performing
financing cannot mediate the relationship between third party funds on return on
assets and non-performing financing can mediate the relationship between loan to
deposit ratio and return on assets.
