Abstract

Together with the development of Purwokerto and Purbalingga cities in both of
the population and the socio-economic development, the growth of transportation
facilities and infrastructure is very essential. To support this development, it is
required to have sufficient transportation facilities which are accessible by all
citizen. The results of calculations through Fare Box Ratio method obtained 0.83
on Lestari Muda Otobus Company (PO); 0.82 on Teguh Otobus Company; and
0.81 on Bus Rapid Transit. By determining the optimum fleet number, it was
obtained that at least 1 unit of Bus Rapid Transit to serve the needs of the number
of passengers and 4 units at maximum of the Bus Rapid Transit fleet at one time.
Thus, 14 units of the Bus Rapid Transit provided by the government/operator had
met the feasibility of the number of passengers. Besides, it also obtained
calculation results by FBR (Fare Box Ratio) method of 0.83 on Lestari Muda PO;
0.82 on Teguh Muda PO; and 0.81 on BRT that the Purwokerto - Purbalingga
route and vice versa experience insufficient financial income for public
transportation service businesses.
