Kenthongan Purbalingga is an art in the form of perfoming traditional musical
instruments from Purbalingga, Central Java, Indonesia. It invovels 30 to 50 music players
and dancers. Kenthong as the main musical instruments, and equipped with traditional
musical instrument Bedug, Suling, Angklung, Gambang, and Tepak. The instrument based
on Android it starts with a simulation of the musical instrument, and then the encyclopedia
of Kenthongan knowledge and history about Kenthongan which was only for comunication
instrument with community people, right now it sounds more interesting because it is
combined with other traditional musical instruments and traditional dances or modern.
The design of the instruments is made similiar to the original, which is using Adobe
Photoshop software and then Virtual Musical Instruments Kenthongan Purbalingga built
using the adobe flash and the Actionscript 3.0 programming language, because the adobe
flash features that are complete and easy to use for making application virtual music. The
methods used in carrying out practical work is Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC).
The development of multimedia method is performed by six stages: design, material
collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The development of virtual music
instruments kenthongan, the purpose for promotional media introduce traditional musical
instruments from Purbalingga to the general public.
