Research with the title Ilokusi Speech in the "Hotman Paris Show" Talk Show
in February 2018 Youtube aims to describe the types of illocutionary speech acts
contained in the speeches of presenters and speakers or guest stars on the "Hotman
Paris Show".
This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data of this study are the
speeches of the host and guest speakers or stars of the "Hotman Paris Show" event
totaling 1146 speeches contained in two topics. There are two sources of data in this
study, the first is the host and guest speaker, the second is the "Hotman Paris Show"
talk show. The method used to provide data is the method of listening with the basic
tapping technique (download), the follow-up technique is the skillful free-referance
technique carried out along with the recording technique. The method used in data
analysis is a pragmatic equivalent method and other analytical techniques, namely
marking reading techniques. Then the method used at the stage of presenting data
analysis is an informal presentation method.
The results of the study on two topics found that there were types of
illocutionary speech acts including representative, commissive, directive, expressive,
and declarative. Representative illocutionary acts of 90 utterances include 29
utterances stated, 1 speech shows, 2 utterances mention, 33 utterances tell, 21
utterances explain, 4 utterances reject. Commissive illocutionary acts of 5 utterances
in the form of promised speech, 2 utterances of swearing. The directive illocutionary
acts are 344 utterances, 22 utterances tell, 10 utterances ask, 8 utterances suggest, 1
utterance begs, 2 utterances invites, 302 utterances ask. Expressive ilokusi acts as
many as 22 speeches, 6 utterances praising, 5 speeches thanking, 4 utterances giving
greetings, 2 speeches criticizing, 3 speeches apologizing, 2 speeches complaining.
Declarative illocutionary acts as many as 8 utterances, 1 speech decides, 4 utterances
allow, 2 utterances agree, 1 speech disagrees.
