Education is the most important factor in human life. Knowledge is a level of
someone understands of something through experience, association or relationship.
Mitigation of landslide disaster is a series of efforts to reduce disaster risk, either
through physical development or awareness and ability enhancement to face disaster
threats. Landslide is the movement of slope-forming material such as rocks, breaking
material, moving soil that is down or out of the slope. This study aims to determine the
relationship between level of educational society and knowledge of landslide disaster
mitigation in Gununglurah village, Cilongok Sub-district of Banyumas Regency.
Survey method by using questionnaire as data collection tool was used in this study.
Area sampling and purposive sampling technique was used to collect the sample. The
data were analyzed by analysis with Pearson Product Moment formula. The results
indicate a positive relationship between the level of educational society and the
knowledge of landslide disaster mitigation that is obtained from the calculation result
of Pearson Product Moment with 5% significant level is obtained the value of r-count
>; r-table or 0,860 > 0,312. It is included in the category of very strong that means
there is a ve positive correlation between the level of society education and the
knowledge of landslide disaster mitigation.
