Abstract
Three phases induction motor was widely used in industry, because it
have several adventages including the simple induction motor, cheap, and easy to
maintenance. In the use of induction motor often the process of stopping the motor
rotation was quicly needed, especially the application for conveyors. To stop the
motor rotation, braking torque was needed too which could be produced
mechanically or electrically. To stop the rotation of an induction motor could be
dynamically designed,that is the braking system was carried out by making a
stasionary magnetic motor field. This condition was carried out by injecting a DC
current into three phases induction motor statot coil after the connection of the
stator coil was released from the AC supply voltage source. The dynamic braking
method has the adventage of being able to adjust braking speed for three phases
induction motor and mechanical losses could be reduced by applying dynamic
braking on three phases induction motor was faster rather than without dynamic
braking.
