Abstract

Tuberosa flower is one type of flower that has great demand by the public because it has many benefits. Coloring on the Tuberosa flower is intended to beautify. This study aims to determine the optimum concentration of liquid food dyes for the tuberosa flower, determine the optimum soaking time for the tuberose flower, determine the best combination between the concentration of liquid food ayes and soaking time in a certain period of time to produce the best color for tuberose flower.
The research was carried out in the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto in April 2018 until May 2018. This study used a completely randomized design (ral) with 3 replications. The treatment consisted of two factors: the concentration of the dye solution with the level of 20 ml, 40 ml, 60 ml and 80 ml and the duration of soaking with a level of 2 hours, 5 hours, and 8 hours. The variables observed were long (vaselife), volume of absorbed pulsing solution, volume of absorbed holding solution, hedonic test and for preference flower color (score).
The results showed that the treatment of food coloring concentrations resulted in a significant effect on the volume of absorbed holding solution on 4th,8th,10th and hedonic tests on preference and aroma tests. the volume of holding solution was absorbed on 2th, 8th and in hedonic test for preference test, the best combination of tuberosa flower treatment is at 80ml / l concentration and 8 hours for soaking time because it has the highest preference score.
