This study aimed to describe the social criticism in the poetry compilation entitled Aku Manusia by A. Mustofa Bisri. The object of this study was social criticism in the poetry collection. This study used literary sociology approach. The data used in this study were in the form of words, lines, and stanzas in the poetry collection containing social criticism. Source of the data in this study was a poetry compilation published in 2016 by Mata Air Indonesia. The number of poetry studied were 12 poetries of 46 poetries available. Data of this study were obtained by reading and recording. Data analysis techniques were divided into three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Results showed that there were (1) Social criticism of moral issues criticizing people who always boasted of themselves found in a poetry Aku Manusia, regarding the people who did not care about the problem of corruption found in a poetry Ada Apa dengan Kalian?; and concerning the people ignorance to preserving nature found in a poetry Tahakkumi and Masih. (2) Social criticism of religious issues criticizing the people who were unaware of any form of reprimand from God found in a poetry Ketika Bumi Berguncang II and regarding the lack of gratitude of people found in a poetry Tentang Dua Orang Kaya dan Miskin. (3) Social criticism of political problem criticizing the leaders acted arbitrarily found in a poetry Orang-orang Negeriku and regarding government that did not carry out the duties found in a poetry Bangsa Ini and Merata. (4) Social criticism of cultural problems criticizing society who liked drinking alcohol found in a poetry Di Timur and regarding birthday celebrations found in a poetry Tanggal-tanggal yang Tanggal. (5) Social criticism of economic problems criticizing economic instability found in a poetry Banyak yang Tinggal. Criticism messages delivered directly and indirectly. Direct delivery was more dominant to use than the indirect one.
