Abstract

Land use is the result of human processing and action on land that aims to fulfill every need of his life. This study aimed to determine the correlation of landslide vulnerability classes and the use of land in the sub-watersheds of Kali Arus of Banyumas Regency. Survey method was used in this study. The data were primary and secondary data. The primary data was the land use that was obtained from the survey and google earth. The secondary data was the landslide vulnerability. The data were analyzed by using ArcMap tools with overlay to figure out the correlation between the landslide vulnerability and the land use in the sub-watersheds of Kali Arus. The result revealed that the land use in high and medium landslide vulnerability was different. It was resulted from the rainfall factors, soil type characteristics and different topography of the region. In the medium landslide vulnerability, the land was used to be plantations/ gardens, settlements, rice fields, rained rice fields, fields, and grasses which covered Petahunan village, Pekuncen sub-district and Semedo village, Pekuncen sub-district. In the high landslide vulnerability, the land was used to be plantations, rice fields, settlements, and moorings which covered Karangkemiri village, Pekuncen sub-district, Kedungurang village, Gumelar sub-district, and Gancang village, Gumelar sub-district.
