Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the significant effect of using cue card on the eight grade students’ speaking skill in English. The participants of this study were the students in MTS Negeri Sumbang 2017/2018. There were two groups who participated in this study 8B as the control class and 8C as the experimental class. The number of the students of each class were 30 students. This study used cue card as technique of teaching speaking. This treatment was conducted for 3 weeks from the last April until the middle of May. This study used Pre-test and Post-test to collect the data. The t-test result was 2,495 compared with t-table with significant level 0,05 (1,671) showed that t-test result was higher than t-table. It could be concluded that there was significant effect of using cue card at eight grade in MTS Negeri Sumbang.
