Abstract
This research aims at investigating the effects of English learning in Elementary School on learners’ English Language Development in Junior High School. The investigation can be done by measuring learners’ English Language Development focuses on vocabulary, grammar and reading skills in Junior High School. The used methods were questionnaire, test and documentation. Five questions of questionnaire and thirty questions of test were asked to the seventh grade learners of SMP Muhammadiyah Sumbang in academic year 2017/2018. 39 of 124 learners were taken used purposive sampling technique. This research classified as retrospective ex-post facto research used qualitative and quantitative method to analyze the data. Qualitative method was used to analyze the questionnaire data. Quantitative method was used to calculate the test result. The data showed that there is no significant effects of English learning in Elementary School on learners’ English Language Development in Junior High School in the terms of vocabulary, grammar and reading skills.
