Semisolid preparations are preparation that are used as external drugs, applied to
the skin for therapeutic purposes or functioning as a protective skin. Semisolid
preparations consist of ointments, pastes, and creams. These are very rare to be
specially prepared in Public Health Centers. The preparation quality is well
enough when its stability is maintained, therefore it takes a competent pharmacist
in the process of the production. This study aims to examine the physical stability
of semisolid preparations made every week for a month. Samples taken from five
health centers in Banyumas Regency, there are two production process that is by
mixing using mortar and directly in ointment pot. Stability test is done by
organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, viscosity test, adherence test,
spreading test, cycling test, and weight rendering test. The results of all tests show
that there is a change in physical stability. Based on these results, it can be
concluded that the physical stability of semisolid compounding form at some
public health centers in Banyumas Regency undergoes changes of stability based
on organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, viscosity test, adherence test,
spreading test and cycling test.
