Abstract

Logawa river is one of Serayu river's tributaries which is upstream in the north, the summit of Mount Slamet, flows southwards downstream and empties in Serayu river. One of Logawa river's utilization is the use by the Water Supply Company for the raw material of drinking water. However, Logawa river is in fact also used by the people to dispose the household waste, agricultural waste, and industrial waste. Therefore, it is possible that Logawa river has been polluted. The research aims to find out the water quality of Logawa river and to study its pollution level. The research method is a survey method. The population is the water of Logawa river from the upstream to the downstream. The sample is taken through purposive area sampling in which 9 river water samples are taken, namely 3 samples in the upstream, 3 samples in the middle, and 3 samples in the downstream. The samples are taken twice, when it is raining and when it is not raining. The pollution level of Logawa river is processed through Storet method, analysed through matching the data of water quality by referring to the water quality standard of the Government Regulation Number 20 of 1990. The research result indicates that the water quality of Logawa river, according to the Government Regulation Number 20 of 1990 when it is raining, belongs to B category in which the allotment is for the raw material of drinking water. Meanwhile, the water quality of Logawa river, when it is not raining, belongs to C category in which its allotment is for fisheries and livestock purposes. Based on Storet calculation, the pollution level of Logawa river, when it is not raining, gets the score of -4. Meanwhile, it gets the score of -11 when it is not raining.
